Sunnyhill offers supported living as an option for children and adults with developmental disabilities who wish to live in the community and need some assistance. Support can be as complex as twenty-four hour supervision or as simple as weekly assistance with budgeting and bill paying. Sunnyhill staff members are available to help people learn necessary living skills, develop paid and unpaid supports, and form relationships that will help them live in the community.
Sunnyhill offers supported living for children and adults with developmental disabilities who wish to live in the community. People served by Sunnyhill work together with staff, families and significant others to determine their needs and interests. Emphasis is placed on personal choice, so each living arrangement is unique. Sunnyhill staff are available 24 hours a day to assist with instruction in daily living skills, acquirement of paid and unpaid supports and the formation of relationships that will help clients live in the community and increase their overall independence.
The ISL program is designed to meet the individual support needs of each person served. The goal is to teach living skills and create opportunities for individuals to fulfill their dreams and individual potential. Additionally, Sunnyhill has a behavior therapist on staff with a PhD to ensure that the provided supports create the most successful environment for each individual.
An ISL development is funded through the Medicaid Waiver program and all facilities must remain in compliance with all Department of Mental Health guidelines. It is our utmost responsibility to ensure the health and safety or our consumers. An individual’s support team through Sunnyhill will work in partnership of the other support providers on the individual’s care team. We will help coordinate appointments and transportation to medical supports, therapeutic supports, employment, day program, school, case management and natural supports.
