Jerry's Mission Trip to Mexico

The day after Christmas, Sunnyhill Participant, Jerry, left with the South County Bible Church on a mission trip to Juarez, Mexico to build a home for a homeless family.

Jerry took lots of pictures of his first experience down in Juarez and gave Sunnyhill a quote about his experience. Jerry said, "We left on Tuesday and arrived in Juarez on Wednesday. It was my first trip out of the country to Mexico. We started building the house on that Wednesday, and completed it on that Friday. It took us three days to build as there was no foundation. Eleven of us from my church went and we stayed at an orphanage in Mexico. The children there loved my balloons that I did for them. We dedicated the house for the family on that Friday evening. The family was really happy at what we did for them, and you could tell by the smiles on their faces. We went back their home the next day and gave them some items for the house. It was an experience that I will never forget and it brought me closer to God. I definitely would like to do it again next year."

Thank you Jerry for sharing your experience with us! We are so proud of you for taking the initiative to help a family in need.
