Important Update: Sunnyhill Adventures Camp 2026

Since our founding in 1978, Sunnyhill has been dedicated to empowering individuals with developmental disabilities and creating meaningful, positive outcomes every day. A cherished part of that mission has been Sunnyhill Adventures Camp, a program that holds a special place for campers and families who look forward to it each year.

Due to ongoing visa challenges affecting our international counselors and staff, who are an essential part of the Sunnyhill camp experience, we are unable to assemble the full team required to operate the program this summer with the quality standards our campers deserve. Therefore, after careful consideration and exploring a range of alternatives, we have made the difficult decision to suspend Sunnyhill Adventures Camp for 2026.

We understand how much this program means to our campers and families, and we share your disappointment. This decision reflects our commitment to providing a consistent, well-supported experience for every participant. We will not compromise on the quality and care that defines Sunnyhill programs.

We are sharing this update now to give families time to make alternative summer plans. Please do not hesitate to reach out to us for information about other program options and helpful resources. Our team is available to assist you in any way we can.

Please note that this decision applies only to Sunnyhill Adventures Camp. All other Sunnyhill programs and services will continue as planned.

We share this news with sincere regret and deep appreciation for the trust you place in Sunnyhill.

Summer of Adventures

Percy’s summer at Sunnyhill Adventures was a triumph of determination. Overcoming past barriers, he embraced inclusive activities tailored to his abilities. The zipline transformed into a thrilling journey, the pool a welcoming space for aquatic enjoyment, and nature a serene backdrop for exploration. Percy’s love for music and the camp’s supportive atmosphere resonated in every moment, making saying goodbye challenging. By the second week, he seamlessly merged into the camp’s community, forming meaningful connections and crafting a kaleidoscope of cherished memories.

Noah’s Sunnyhill Adventures experience was a celebration of triumphs. He extended his stays through three visits, culminating in an empowering overnight experience. Among the varied activities, the zipline emerged as a symbol of personal victory. Noah’s steadfast commitment to surpassing his β€œChallenge by Choice” goals and embracing new adventures is a testament to the spirit of resilience.

In collaboration with our diverse team of international counselors, Sunnyhill creates extraordinary inclusive adventures, fostering an environment where every individual can revel in shared experiences and cultivate lifelong connections to create transformative experiences. 33-57% of people diagnosed with a disability live a sedentary lifestyle due to a lack of accessible recreation and programs, highlighting the impact of Sunnyhill Adventures Summer Camp.
