Sunnyhill began in 1978 with a simple but powerful belief: every person deserves the opportunity to belong, grow, and live with purpose. What started with 18 families seeking meaningful opportunities for their children diagnosed with developmental disabilities has grown into one of the largest providers of person-centered services in Jefferson County, St. Charles County, and the Greater St. Louis region.

Today, Sunnyhill delivers over 1 million hours of support each year through a team of more than 400 dedicated staff members. We serve people diagnosed with a range of developmental disabilities, including autism, Down syndrome, ADHD, and cerebral palsy, ensuring each individual has access to the care, resources, and opportunities needed to build a meaningful life.

While our roots began with creating inclusive, shared experiences, our work today focuses on lighting the path to empowered living through a full continuum of support. This includes residential services, behavioral analysis, life skills development, family navigation, and community integration; meeting people where they are and supporting them at every stage of life.

Rooted in the communities we serve, Sunnyhill reinvests 97% of every dollar back into programs and services. We are committed to addressing critical challenges, such as gaps in Medicaid funding, housing instability, limited access to healthcare, and barriers to inclusion, so that every person has the opportunity to live with dignity, independence, and connection.
