Paul: I am a Stargazer

Paul lives at Sunnyhill’s community campus in DeSoto, MO, where he benefits from Sunnyhill’s Residential Supports. These comprehensive supports provide round-the-clock support designed specifically for individuals diagnosed with developmental disabilities. Living alongside housemates, Paul enjoys an environment that fosters skill development, socialization, and personal growth.

At a recent ARTventure annual public Art Gallery event, Paul showcased his artistic talent through a deeply personal painting inspired by his transition to Sunnyhill’s community. Having previously struggled to find a supportive environment where he could truly thrive, Paul found comfort in gazing at the night sky and its bright stars. His painting of stars reflects his hope to bring brightness to others’ lives. His work was not only deeply appreciated but also transformed into wearable art, earning him recognition as a featured artist.

Behind this creative journey is the collaborative support network that surrounds Paul, natural supports, medical professionals, educators, employers, case managers, and community resources, all coordinated by our residential team to provide a person-centered environment.
